The Negros Occidental Schools Division is all set for the opening of classes on June 1.
The division expects 350,924 enrollees and has adequate classrooms and teachers for the opening of classes, Anthony Liobet, OIC schools division superintendent, said yesterday.

In 2014-2015, the division had 347,380 enrollees with 27,600 kindergarten pupils, 228,623 in elementary and 91,157 in junior high school, Liobet said.

Negros Occidental Schools Division will need 1,166 new classrooms and 1,750 additional teachers for senior high school that is expected to draw 46,680 students in the Negros Occidental Schools Division, Liobet said.
In preparation for senior high, classroom construction will begin this year, with Negros Occidental initially allocated 332, Liobet said.
