Bacolod Councilor Carl Lopez reported to Police Station 2 in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City, last night that City Legal Officer Rayfrando Diaz went to his table at the L'Fisher Hotel and challenged him to a fist fight.
Diaz could not be reached for his comment on the incident last night.
Lopez, said in a police blotter, that while having a meeting with his staff, Chabellie Subaldo Descutido and Maribel Vinluan, in the presence of lawyer Joselito Bayatan at the ground floor of the hotel, he waved to Diaz who then approached him and said “Tapungulay ta bala (let's have a fist fight).”.

Will there be an arraignment at the Sandiganbayan tomorrow?
City Legal Officer Rayfrando Diaz ll said yesterday that the camp of Mayor Monico Puentevella has filed a motion before the Sandiganbayan Fourth Division on his case involving the questionable purchase of a Information Technology package worth of P26 million.
The purchase was funded from his Priority Development Assistance Fund when he was the congressman of Bacolod City ..

2 SU graduates vying
for leadership award

Two graduates of Silliman University in Dumaguete City are among the 30 student leaders in Central Visayas included in the national search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines.
Hanz Denzil Villahermosa and Mikle Vito Abing landed in the list of Ten Outstanding Students Region 7 May 2.
Villahermosa, who was president of the SU Student Government, graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Education, major in English, and was named Most Outstanding Student of the Year in February, and also received University Honors.
