who challenged me

Bacolod City Legal Officer Rayfrando Diaz ll yesterday said he did not challenge Bacolod Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez to a fist fight but it was the latter who challenged him.

Earlier. Lopez had said that while he was having a meeting with his staff, in the presence of lawyer Joselito Bayatan at the ground floor of the hotel, Diaz approached their table and challenged him to a fistfight.

Diaz said he believes what happened was personal between them and that it was beyond office hours. It was just a casual exchange of conversation, he said.moremoremore

Boxing hero Saranggani Rep. Emmanuel “Pacman” Pacquiao remains the richest and the only billionaire-member of the House of Representatives for the fifth consecutive year.

Pacquiao had a net worth of P1.7 billion in 2014, higher than P1.3 billion in 2013, his Statement of Asset, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) released by the Lower House yesterday showed.

LGUs urged to intensify fight
vs. Visayan Sea illegal fishers

ILOILO – The Iloilo provincial government is reiterating its call to all chief executives and agencies concerned to be active in clearing the Visayan Sea of illegal fishers.

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, in a press release, lamented that it seems that only the Iloilo Provincial Bantay Dagat Task Force is sustaining its operation and issued the statement after the 34 positive operations of the task force more than a month after their members were reshuffled April 15.

Of the operations, 21 involved the use of trawl, 10 were cast nests, and three were Danish seine of two super hulbot and one modified. The latest operation was on May 14 when 22 fishermen from Barangay Bacal, Carles, Iloilo, were arrested and charged for using Danish seine, the press release said. moremoremore
