Lions district officers elected
The Lions Clubs International District 301-B1 elected its new officers during the 66 th Multiple District Convention in Cebu City, May 22-24, a press release from the club said.
Celia Ferrer of Mount Kanla-on Lions Club was elected district governor, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog of Iloilo Host Lions Club, was first vice-district governor, and Dr. Eriberto Layda of the Bacolod City Host Lions Club, the second vice-district governor.
They will serve for Lion Year 2015-2016, starting July 1, the press release also said.
District 301-B1 is one of nine districts in Multiple District 301 Philippines, and covers Western Visayas, with more than 50 clubs and 1,500 members.
Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization, with more than 1.3 million members in around 45,000 clubs, in more than 200 countries, the press release said.

17-year-old girl missing
A 17-year-old girl was reported missing by her family at Police Station 5 in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, Thursday, the police said.
Wendy Rose Omamalin, a first year student of Hotel and Restaurant Management of STI West Negros University, and a resident of Charito Heights Subdivision in Barangay Granada, was last seen Wednesday, last week, her brother, Wilnard Omamalin, told the DAILY STAR yesterday.
