“Please do not forget my son, Mar Roxas”.
That was the call of Judy Araneta Roxas last night in apparent reference to the Local Government Secretary's expected bid for the presidency in 2016, before a crowd of Negrenses leaders, most of whom were from the sugar industry, at a dinner in Bacolod City.
Mrs. Roxas, at the dinner hosted by National Federation of Sugarcane Planters president, Enrique Rojas, and his wife, Lourdes, told the crowd there is only one thing she is asking of them, not to forget her son who is a Negrense.

Officials of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative and the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative both reported yesterday a decrease in their residential rates this month.
General manager Jonas Descaya of NOCECO said their residential rates for the month of May is P8.7668 per kilowatt hour, or a decrease of P1.5542 per kilowatt hour from the previous month's rate of P 10.3210 per kilowatt hour.
Descaya said the reduction in electricity rates this month can be attributed to the drop in the generation charge that is lower by Php1.1434 per kilowatt hour compared to the previous month.
