Reunion in San Juan

My sister Teresita Piccio East and I attended the family reunion of the Marañon, Miraflores, Hontiveros, etc. clans in San Juan, Metro Manila, last week. The hall was filled with elegantly dressed women and handsome men in coat and tie and others in barong tagalog.

We had a very delicious dinner catered by one of the Sarabia ladies in Bacolod, after which a program followed.

A balikbayan relative from L.A. danced ala Michael Jackson to our delight and calls for more. Each delegation had a presentation and the Davao delegates were the winners.

After that the whole clan posed for photos. It was nice to meet all our relatives from Iloilo, Batangas, Leyte, Samar, Cebu and Davao.

Rizza Hontiveros who is running as senator under the Liberal Party was also there and everyone including me, posed with her for a photo. She gave a short talk thanking everybody for attending.

It was a wonderful evening.

From Manila we checked out the much-talked about Vikings at SM Bacolod and enjoyed all the gastronomic delights it has to offer, with Toots Jimenez as a great host. It is a fun restaurant worth returning too *
