Greenpeace Campaign

From its first salvo in Luzon, Greenpeace #IAmHampasLupa campaign has reached Bacolod City with the launching of a photo pledge tomorrow and a youth forum on Friday, its press release said yesterday.

This is a series of regional fora and online engagement to reclaim the image of farming and farmers, and aims at mobilizing the youth to take on food and agriculture as national election issues.

It is also one way in which Greenpeace and partners hope to have informed engagement with presidential aspirants to prioritize securing food and agriculture without harming people and environment in their electoral agenda.

The launch of Bacolod #IAmHampasLupa photo pledge will be held at the Capitol Lagoon, Bacolod City 9:30 a.m. tomorrow, while the #IAmHampasLupa: Regional Young People's Forum on Food, Nutrition, and Agriculture will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the St. John Mary Vianney Hall, San Sebastian Pastoral Complex, Rizal-San Juan Streets, Bacolod City.

Speakers will be Dina Genzola of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, local eco-agri practitioner Ramon Peñalosa, Ramon Uy Jr., president of Organik na Negros! Organic Producers and Retailers Association. and Janver Morales of 2012-2013 Young Filipino Farmer Training in Japan.*KDP
