Sec. Rosalinda Baldoz of the Department of Labor and Employment will keynote the JobStart Employers' Forum in Dumaguete City today.
Director Dominique Tutay of the Bureau of Local Employment and Maria Socorro Mira, manager of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), will be at the affair.
On September 21 Dumaguete Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria, representing Dumaguete City, signed the Memorandum of Undertaking with the DOLE for the JobStart Philippines Program.
Dumaguete is the third LGU in Region 7 considered as an implementing partner of the JobStart Philippines Program, in addition to Cebu City and Bohol province.
JobStart Philippines is another employment facilitation program of the DOLE in partnership with the LGUs, PESOs, and the private sector and in collaboration with the Government of Canada and the Asian Development Bank.
The primordial objective of the program is to enhance the employability of youth-at-risk particularly the out-of-school youth and facilitate their integration into employment.
Business establishments are urged to attend the JobStart Employers' Forum the Manhattan Suites Inn in Dumaguete City, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, PESO manager Socorro Mira said.
Sagarbarria, city and DOLE officials, Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ed Du and Kelly Bird of the Asian Development Bank, among others, will be present during the activity.
A highlight of the whole day activity is the Employers' Pledging and Commitment to be led by Du.*JFP
