The massacre of three family members in Isabela, Negros Occidental, Saturday was triggered by their refusal to allow the suspect to play a “computer game” popularly known as “DotA (Defense of the Ancients)”, Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, town police chief, said yesterday.
A province-wide manhunt has been launched by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office to arrest the suspect, identified as Jemar Carpio, 27, who has managed to elude arrest.
Grande said they have already issued an order to immediately arrest Carpio, once he is sighted.
The campaign for the 2016 elections has not even started yet, and Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella is already seeing “strange things and even stranger incidents.”
“I hate to think what else he will start seeing in the coming days,” Bacolod Rep. Evelio Leonardia also said yesterday in reaction to Puentevella's statements last Friday when he announced that the Sandiganbayan was throwing out his Motion for Reconsideration, making his suspension inevitable.
The Sandiganbayan has denied the motion for reconsideration filed by Puentevella and upheld its September 28 resolution ordering his preventive suspension for 90 days in the graft case involving alleged overpriced information technology packages, allegedly without public bidding. .
