Task force leads chase
vs. massacre suspect

The municipal government of Isabela yesterday created a task force to spearhead the efforts to arrest the suspect in the massacre of three members of a family in the town.

Chief Inspector Anthony Grande, Isabela police chief, said yesterday that the Task Force Carpentero was created through a resolution approved by the town Sangguniang Bayan.

It is composed of the Isabela police and the 11th Infantry Battalion Charlie Company headed by 1Lt. Wilbert Dakpin.moremoremore

Cop lodges complaint
versus prosecutor

A police official has filed charges against a Department of Justice assistant state prosecutor for her handling of the cases that stemmed from a raid on the ancestral house of former Pulupandan Mayor Magdaleno Peña in 2013 and is asking for her preventive suspension pending investigation.

Senior Supt. Jose Mario Espino of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agency of the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame, Quezon City, filed a complaint affidavit against DOJ Assistant State Prosecutor Mary Jane Sytat before the Office of the Ombudsman.

The complaint was for alleged gross neglect of duty, inefficiency, incompetence in the performance of official duties, gross ignorance of the law, serious irregularities in the performance of duties and grave misconduct. moremoremore

Dumagueteños are alarmed by the spate of shooting incidents in Barangay Daro, in the city, where six shooting incidents, with eight victims, had transpired in less than two weeks.

The latest victim was identified as Ezer Torrefiel Gonzales, while his back-rider, who is still unnamed, cheated death and is recuperating in a hospital. No other detail of the shooting incident that happened yesterday was available as of press time.

At about 4 p.m. Sunday, Normanuel Bacay, of San Jose town in Negros Oriental, was shot dead at Cimafranca Subdivision in Daro. He was in the list of top 10 drug personalities in San Jose, and was out on bail..moremoremore
