NLRC affirms Lagarde
return as Ceneco GM

​​The National Labor Relations Commission Seventh Division in Cebu has affirmed in its entirety the decision of the Bacolod labor arbiter declaring as illegal the dismissal of Sulpicio Lagarde as general manager of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative, and ordering his reinstatement without loss to seniority rights and other benefits.

The NLRC Seventh Division also ordered Ceneco and its respondent board members Arnel Lapore, Michael Maravilla, Paul Lizares, Joyce Martha Cuenca, Zenaida Lacson, Vicente Tan and Robert Javellana to solidarily pay Lagarde P2,260,541.77 in backwages, 13th month pay, moral and exemplary damages, subject to recomputation upon finality of the decision.

2 coops drop power
rates, but Noceco's up

The electricity rates for November of Central Negros Electric Cooperative and Northern Negros Electric Cooperative have slightly dropped, while that of the Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative in southern Negros is up byP.0485.

Central Negros Electric Cooperative assistant general manager Chuchie Destriza said Ceneco's residential rate in its November 2015 billing period is P9.9438 per kWh, a decrease of P0.0549/kWh from last month's P9.9987/kWh.

The rate drop is attributed to the 0.61 percent decrease in the generation charges and 1.66 percent decrease in the transmission charges compared to the previous month, Destriza said. .moremoremore

DSWD exec warns
4Ps recipients of swindlers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7 stressed it does not collect any membership fee from would-be beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, and warned of “swindlers”.

“We do not collect membership fees to become 4Ps beneficiaries,” DSWD Field Office VII regional director Mercedita Jabagat said after receiving reports of individuals collecting membership fees.

The beneficiaries are selected through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction or Listahanan, which identifies who and where the poor are in the country, Jabagat said in a government press release..moremoremore
