The 10 th Negros Island Organic Farmers Festival recorded gross sales of P1,618,927.80 on Wednesday and Thursday, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported yesterday.
Among the organic produce and by-products sold at the organic market are organic food, fresh fruits and vegetables, crops, plants, sweets, and many others coming from the organic farms of the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, as well as from organic organizations, a press release from the Capitol said.
Sustainable innovations and technologies practiced by different farmer-producers and advocates, are also showcased at the market.
More than 200 exhibitors will sell more products along the North Capitol Road and in front of the Provincial Capitol, as more activities are lined up at the Capitol Grounds until Sunday, the last day of the festival, the press release said.
More health advocates and entrepreneurs from all walks of life are buying organic food and products in support to the organic movement of the Negros Island, it added.*
