Acting Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya has designated replacements for five out of the 10 terminated executive assistants of suspended Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella.

Gasataya said he appointed lawyer Joseph Chiu, former City Accountant Eduardo Ravena, Noel Tamparong, Elsie Jolingan, and retired Senior Police Officer 4 Dennis Perma.

They will fill in the positions of terminated supervising/administrative officer Roger Dullano, executive assistants Rocky Puentevella, Rufino Alcala, Agnes Lira Jundos and Reynaldo Ebreo, respectively, he said.

Gasataya said he will disclose later the replacements of the other five terminated executive assistants who are Andre Victor Las Piñas, Lope Ledesma, Joemarie Biasca, Elmo Olivar and Rodolfo Salga Sr..

He said most of those replacements came from the private sector.

Gasataya had said earlier that the termination of Puentevella's 10 executive assistants was necessary because he wants to work with people who have his full trust and confidence.

He also said Juvy Dioso assumed the position of acting City Legal Officer after Aireen Bonghanoy applied for a permanent position as head of the Bacolod Housing Authority.

Former BHA head Josephine Segundino has just retired.

Gasataya said Bonghanoy is now a regular employee of the city and clarified that she was not terminated.

This has nothing to do with politics, he said.

Gasataya said the appointment of Dioso is only good for about three months, adding that all of them will return to where they came from after 90 days.

This is only for the development and improvement of the city, Gasataya said, adding that they have no wrong intentions at all.

Dioso, who has been in private practice since 1993 before she was asked to assume the position of acting CLO, said Gasataya tasked her to handle legal matters especially on the issues of the Real Property Tax and just compensation for the affected lot owners in the Buri Road project of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

We have already discussed the matter because Gasataya wants to resolve the issues at the earliest possible time, she said.

Dioso said she is willing to assist Gasataya in all his legal concerns in accordance with the law.*CGS
