NEDA sets agenda
for NIDC organization
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Five items are on the agenda for the Negros Island Development Council (NIDC) organizational meeting at Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City on December 4.

On the agenda are the presentation of the Negros Island Region profile, approval of the NIDC manual of operations, creation of the NIDC sectoral committees and naming of chairpersons, the 2017 Annual Investment Program, and the schedule and venue of the 2015 NIDC meetings, said Efren Carreon, interim director of the National Economic and Development Authority.

Carreon, who is also NIDC vice chairperson, pointed out that the president stated in an executive order that the NIR should be fully operational by January 2016.

To deliver messages at the opening of the first NIDC meeting are Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo and NEDA Deputy Director General Margarito Songco.

Also invited to the NIDC are the city mayors and league of municipalities presidents of Negros Occidental and Oriental, and regional heads of NIR national government agencies.*CPG
