Neg. Occ. joins world trade fair
The Anuga 2015 officially kicked off in Cologne, Germany, Saturday with a delegation from the Negros Occidental provincial government promoting the province's muscovado sugar and organic coffee.
Anuga is the world's premier trade fair for food and beverages exports participated in by 180 countries all over the world, a Capitol press release said.
This event, which is celebrated every two years, showcases products like exotic drinks, meat and meat products, frozen food, chilled and fresh food, dairy products, bread, bakery and soups, organic products etc. in the Agriculture and Forestry, Food and Beverage, Bakery and Confectionery industries.
Strategically located at the heart of Cologne, Germany, the exhibit area spans 30 hectares and hosts more than 700 food and beverages exhibitors.
Anuga is an economic engine that boosts the trading ties between the Philippines and European Union.
Thirty-five handpicked food exhibitors from the Philippines are showcasing their products, including the province's muscovado and organic coffee, the press release said.*

Kapuso stars grace
MassKara Festival
GMA Kapuso stars Lovi Poe, Benjamin Alves, Ken Chan and Fabio Ide were in Bacolod City yesterday, for the 2015 MassKara Festival.
Poe and Alves, who are the lead stars in the primetime show, “Beautiful Strangers”, met and bonded with Bacoleños during the Kapuso mall show at the main atrium of SM City Bacolod, 5 p.m. yesterday.
Poe said she is excited about the TV series, as they are trying to show that people should make the right decisions or admit their mistakes for them or people around them to avoid karma.
Alves said he and the cast of “Beautiful Strangers” are doing their best because they have seen how people behind the camera work to give the best script and pacing of the story.
The show premiered August 10, and also stars Heart Evangelista-Escudero, Rocco Nacino, Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Ayen Munji-Laurel, Dianne Medina, Emilio Garcia, Lovely Rivero, Kier Legaspi, Mariel Pamintuan, Gabriel de Leon, Renz Valerio, Djanin Cruz, Hannah Mamaril and Nar Cabico.
Meanwhile, GMA afternoon prime series “Destiny Rose” stars Chan and Ide also joined the mall show to meet their Bacolod fans.
Ide said that their show, although controversial, strengthens respect among transgenders, and shows that whatever the sexual preference, “we are all the same, we have the same heart and we should love each other”.
Chan said he hopes the show will help open up the minds of viewers on issues about transgenders in society.
“Destiny Rose”, that premiered Sept. 14, tells the story of Joey Flores Vergara (Chan), a woman trapped in a man's body, who will go through setbacks and challenges in life, to become a stronger person. It also stars Katrina Halili, Manilyn Reynes, Joko Diaz, Jackie Lou Blanco, Jeric Gonzales, JC Tiuseco, Ken Alfonso, Sheena Halili, Irma Adlawan and Michael de Mesa.
Meanwhile, Kapuso stars Julie Anne San Jose, Julian Trono and Jake Vargas, cast of “Buena Familia” will be at SM City Bacolod, for a meet-and-greet, at 5 p.m. today.*SGG
