Federation of
organic groups eyed

BY KARLA PANGANIBAN

A provincial federation of organic village associations will be formed today in a planning-workshop on the organic agriculture program of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist to be held at the DOLE Training Hall, Bacolod City.

This is the second day of the activity that aims to form this federation in the province so it will be easier for them to organize and acquire bigger services, Julie Rivera, OPA Agriculturist II, said yesterday.

“As we come up with a federation, we aim to go for Agritourism to develop the villages and showcase organic agriculture,” she said.

There will be an overview of roles and responsibilities from the Department of Labor and Employment to be followed with the action planning and “cliniquing,” she added.

Rivera said the participants from the 12 existing organic villages were trained yesterday on capability-building and values formation.*KDP
