BCY Team and Pin Pals Ladies reigned in their respective division to capture the title in the 1 st Golden Fuel Mixed Trio Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
ESD Solid Strikers and 69Ner's won in the consolation contest of the non-winning entries.
Bobby Yap's BCY pin busters outclassed the top team Silverado ASSFBI of Cecil Ramon Silverio in the final despite the twice-to-beat advantage of the latter.
BCY won in game one, 341-307, then completed the come from behind win 333-320, in the second game to bag the title in the premiere bracket.
Carrying the colors for BCY were Ronald Fernandez, Mitz Villa, Cyril Mayordomo and Karl Barbosa.
Fernandez scored 112 for the winning team, while Orly Guiljon tallied 113 for Silverado.
In the non-rated event, the all-ladies Pin Pals composed of Cheryl Ramos, Precy Pillo, Ann Dayot and Ronella Cordero also erased the twice-to-beat advantage of Leah Uy's to win the championship.
Pin Pals won the first game, 326-317, and came out strong in the second game, 325-318, to win the non-rated title.
Pillo led the Pin Pals with 113 points while Michael Corral posted 123 for Uy's team. Joining Corral in the team were Mark Andren, Oscar Clenen, and Jake Castellano.
Davies Team of Edgar Jerez settled for second runner-up in the rated category, and Tiger Eye in the class C category.
Silverado holds the tournament records in team highest single and triple with 400 and 1,047 points.
The event individual record holders were Lois Palenge (WEPCO) in the men's highest pinning with 96; Noralyn Lamis (Tiger Eye) in the distaff side with 94; Joe Ermeo (Bago City Strikers) in single and triple with 170 and 415; Cecil Biendo (Tiger Eye) in the women's single with 162, and Precy Pillo (Pin Pals) in triple with 374.
Silverado's bet Norman Pineda and Carmen Romales (Tiger) won in the master bowler title in the men and women's category.
Bacolod Tay Tung High School Batch '96 president Edison Go awarded the prizes to the winners in behalf of Willy Au of 1 st Golden Fuel. Assisting him was tournament chairman Bobby Yap.*HLG
