New hospital opens

The grand opening of the South Bacolod General Hospital and Medical Center Inc. was held Wednesday, and the thanksgiving mass was officiated by Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra.

Dr. Marilyn Marañon, Elsa Leonardia, Mayor Monico and Josefa Puentevella, Dr. Rodolfo and Rolando Nonato, and Anthony Robles cut the ribbon to officially open the newest hospital in Bacolod.

The idea of a hospital started when a group of doctors from Manila approached Dr. Rodolfo Nonato about their plan to build a medical facility in Bacolod. He mentioned this to his brother and sister during a family reunion, and they believed that the family has what it takes to construct the hospital.

To make the story short, with the outpouring of support from many doctors and none doctors alike, and thanks to the Development Bank of the Philippines for the financial support, represented by Tony Robles, they started to make this dream of a hospital into a reality.

The hospital officers are Rolando Nonato, chairman of the board; Dr. Rodolfo Nonato, president and medical director; Wan Margaret Nonato, treasurer; Ma. Nanette Nonato, assistant treasurer; Deanna Mae Nonato, assistant treasurer; and Regina Ann Nonato-Cariño, corporate secretary.

People from a neighboring subdivision are very glad of the start of operation of the South Bacolod General Hospital and Medical Center Inc.*

Remember: Don't let the noise of the world keep you from hearing the voice of the Lord. Whether morning, noon or night, make God's Word your delight.*
