The Philippine Coast Guard yesterday cancelled sea travel of small vessels in Negros Occidental for the entire day, and fastcrafts out of Bacolod from 6 a.m. to noon yesterday.
Gale force winds associated with Typhoon Lando caused the cancellation of sea travel, Lt. Commander Ramil Palabrica, Coast Guard Bacolod Station chief, said.
Three persons on small bancas who sailed out from Negros Occidental Saturday were still missing as of yesterday, he said.
Seven people were also killed and two others went missing after motorboat, M/B Tawash, capsized between Iloilo and Guimaras Sunday afternoon, Lt. Junior Grade Edison Diaz, commander of the Coast Guard Iloilo Station, also said.
Palabrica said that as a precaution, small crafts were not allowed to sail out of the ports of Pulupandan, Victorias, Cadiz and San Carlos City in Negros Occidental yesterday.
Meanwhile, one fisherman identified as Magnum Cabayeron from Concepcion, Iloilo, was washed ashore alive in Sagay City yesterday, Palabrica said.
Still missing was Joseph Perinal, 46, of Concepcion, Iloilo, who had left the port of Victorias in Negros Occidental Saturday.
