Four members of the House of Representatives, led by Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer (Neg. Occ., 4 th District), held a public hearing on a bill for the reorganization and modernization of the Philippine National Police and appropriation of funds for it, at the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City yesterday morning.
Ferrer, who chairs the House Committee on Public Order and Safety, said they held the hearing in Bacolod to get inputs from policemen on the ground on the PNP modernization measure. Similar hearings will be held in other parts of the country.
Reps. Samuel Pagdilao (PL-ACT-CIS), Gwendolyn Garcia (Cebu, 3 rd District) and Romeo Acop (Antipolo City, 2 nd District), and Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. were also at the hearing attended by members of the PNP.
Ferrer said they were holding the hearing in Bacolod so that policemen in the area can give their inputs and their concerns.*CPG
