NVC raising aid for
‘Lando' victims
BY CARLA GOMEZ

A drive to bring Mingo, the Negros-made instant power meal of rice, mongo and malunggay, to the Typhoon “Lando” stricken province of Aurora, was kicked off yesterday by the Negrense Volunteers for Change Foundation.

Shortly after it was kicked off, donors and friends of NVC had contributed 15,788 Mingo meals to the drive that ends tomorrow, NVC president Millie Kilayko said yesterday.

Mingo meals that come in 20gm packs and are sold at P5 each, will be shipped Aurora on Thursday, she said.

NVC had recently reported that it has provided more than 4,000,000 Mingo meals to several provinces nationwide.

While most of these have been utilized for nutrition programs for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers, close to a million was used for emergency relief operations conducted after typhoons Yolanda, Pablo, and Maring, the Bohol earthquake, and the Zamboanga siege, Kilayko said.

She said those who wish to donate may contact the NVC Foundation through its email address at info@nvcfoundation-ph.org , or telephone number 034-434-5568.

Donors who wish to use their credit cards or send currency through Paypal may donate through the NVC website at www.nvcfoundation-ph.org , she added.*CPG
