The Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas has ordered the suspension of former Bacolod City administrator Rolando Villamor for six months and one day without pay after finding him administratively liable in the complaint filed against him by a former executive assistant of the city.
Villamor was found guilty of Conduct Prejudicial to the Best Interest of the Service in the case filed against him by former executive assistant Moises de la Cruz.
In a clear case of conflict of interest, Villamor appeared as counsel for Galeno Construction Inc. in a civil case filed against the city government, the Ombudsman said.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano yesterday said that he is still hoping Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will run for president in the 2016 polls.
Cayetano, who was in Bacolod to give P100,000 in livelihood assistance to the Barangay Doce Trisikad Services Association, said Duterte has until December 10 to decide if he will run for president.
Under Comelec rules Duterte can substitute for another candidate running for president provided they belong to the same political party.

Electoral board exec cautions political candidates, public against vote buying
Msgr. Julius Perpetuo Heruela, the convenor of the Diocesan Electoral Board of the Diocese of Dumaguete, is calling on candidates to refrain from vote buying, and for voters not to succumb to the lure of cash in exchange for their votes in the May 9, 2016 elections.
Heruela said it is a sad reality in the Philippines that a large number of the electorate is usually difficult to dissuade from selling their votes to enterprising political aspirants, some of whom utilize compelling methods to influence the voters. .
