The founder of TravelXchange is urging stakeholders in the tourism industry in Negros Occidental and Oriental to develop a strong brand for the One-Negros Island Region campaign.
Charles Lim said yesterday that Bacolod City and the province of Negros Occidental are at a crossroads at this point with the One-Negros Island proclamation.
“You will be expected as stakeholders to take the lead in helping tourism grow to a larger commercial tourism scale,” he said at the opening of the 9 th TravelXchange at SM City Bacolod that runs until Sunday.


NEDA sees GDP to grow
between 6 and 6.5% in Q4
MANILA -- The government expects the Philippine economy to continue expanding in the fourth quarter despite the devastation wrought by typhoon 'Lando', ending the year with growth of around 6 to 6.5 percent.
Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan said damage to agriculture and infrastructure from typhoon stood at over Php7 billion.
“The damage is not so much for a Php12-trillion economy,” he said in an interview on the sidelines of the press briefing on the sustainable development goals.


VMC taps firm
on power sale
MANILA -- Victorias Milling Corp. has tapped Indian-engineering firm Thermax Limited to evaluate the feasibility of their plan to sell power to the grid.
In a disclosure from the Philippine Stock Exchange yesterday, the company said it engaged Thermax Limited to evaluate, design and handle its co-generation project.
Earlier, the company authorized the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Victorias Green Energy Corp., with a capital stock of Php 500 million for its power projects.
