VMC taps firm on power sale

MANILA -- Victorias Milling Corp. has tapped Indian-engineering firm Thermax Limited to evaluate the feasibility of their plan to sell power to the grid.

In a disclosure from the Philippine Stock Exchange yesterday, the company said it engaged Thermax Limited to evaluate, design and handle its co-generation project.

Earlier, the company authorized the creation of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Victorias Green Energy Corp., with a capital stock of Php 500 million for its power projects.

Victorias Milling is engaged in the business of integrated raw and refined sugar manufacturing plants in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.*PNA
