P8M set for livestock
BY KARLA PANGANIBAN

The Provincial Veterinary Office has allotted P8 million to mitigate the effects of El Niño on the livestock industry in Negros Occidental.

Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said the budget will cover feeds, mineral blocks and vitamin electrolyte water soluble.

Pasture grasses propagation and distribution, and layers and pig dispersal are also included, he said.

We are already providing assistance to the local government units to mitigate the effects, Decena said.

Decena said his office has assigned veterinarians and other personnel to implement different preventive measures versus the effects of a drought.

Regular medical missions are being conducted throughout the province, he added.*KDP
