SJI girls turn back BTTHS
to win Br. Ceci volley title

Reigning NOPSSCEA secondary girls' volleyball champion St. John's Institute stamped their class over Bacolod Tay Tung High School with a four-setter win in the playoff to capture the championship in the 7 th Br. Ceci Hojilla Inter-Club Volleyball Cup at the Br. Dizon Center Court in University of St. La Salle.

The Tay Tung spikers forced a rubber match against SJI after claiming victory in straight sets during the first match in the final, 25-20-25-27, 25-23.

In the playoff, the BTTHS girls took the first set, 20-25, but SJI bounced back with a 25-9 win in the second set to even the ballgame. Taking the third set at 25-13, the Peter Yusay-mentored Johnians sealed the victory in the fourth set, 25-13.

The USLS girls' grabbed the third place while STI-West Negros University settled for fourth place.

In Women's Class B, the Silay City outlasted USLS Alumni, 9-25, 25-23, 12-25, 25-21, and 15-13 to take home the title after 1 hour and 47 minutes. Talisay finished third and Ceneco, fourth.

Meanwhile, first timer Brgy. Handumanan reigned in men's Class B after defeating defending champion Capitol. 25-22, 25-18, and 25-23 in the championship round.

Handumanan easily beat weary rag tag USLS Alumni, 25-16, 25-8, and 15-18 to advance into the final.* NAB
