‘A night of angels'
It was a grand 75 th birthday celebration for businesswoman Edith Besana Robillo held at SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City recently.
It was a red carpet welcome for all the guests, and the celebrator arrived in style, dressed like an angel in her white gown accentuated with a pair of huge white feather wings, complete with halo! She walked on petals of fresh roses laid for her on the red carpet, accompanied by an entourage of “querubins”, including her two grandchildren, who were cuddly and adorable in their little angel-inspired costumes.
One highlight of the event was when Edith sang “You'll never know”, “For once in my life”, and “Too Young”, which drew applause from the crowd. Edith also led a surprise dance medley performance for her guests, together with members from the Bacolod Airport, Mt. Kanlandog, Traders, Bacolod Fourth Estate, Mt. Kanla-on, and the Occidental Negros Lions clubs. Everyone took to the dance floor as a night of ballroom dancing commenced.
Edith is one of Bacolod's civic ladies, and is an officer or member of various civic organizations. She is the president of the Negros Occidental Puericulture Center, past president of the Mt. Kanla-on Lion's Club, director of the Bacolod Fourth Estate Lion's Club, past regent of the Daughter's of Mary Immaculate, past secretary of the Bacolod Cultural Foundation, past director of the Negros Occidental Garden Club, and a member of the Women of Wonders.*
