NOPSSCEA Season
35 unfolds at USLS

School officials and students from NOPSSCEA member schools converged at the St. La Salle Coliseum yesterday to witness the opening ceremony of the league's Season 35.

While there was no double-header basketball showdown after the opening rites, the simple program prepared by NOPSSCEA officials highlighted the competitive spirit and camaraderie among the member schools.

Keynote speaker in this year's opening was Gerhard Kyrsstopher Pagunsan, a former campus personality from University of St. La Salle, whose singing talent earned him a slot in national television show Hi-5 over TV5 Netwwork.

Giving color to the kick-off ceremony was the drumbeating competition won by USLS with last year's champion St. Scholastica's Academy settling for second place, and St. Joseph School – La Salle, third place.

Meanwhile, NOPSSCEA sports competitions in all levels are scheduled to start on September 19 in different venues in Bacolod City.

Badminton will be played at the P Hang Badminton Court on Sept. 19-20 and Oct. 3-4, while basketball will start on September 19 and with Bacolod Tay Tung High School Gym, USLS Coliseum, and UNO-R Gym as venues.
