Sharp Team I won the championship in the premiere division, as K of C – Candles ruled the non-rated category of the Sharp Aquos/Condura organized Open Trio Bowling Championship Cup 2015 at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.
Mentored by Irne Diaz, Sharp Team 1 topped the Class A contest by beating NPBC RJ Stars of Steve Po in the finals, 345-338.
Carrying the colors for the champion team were Edgar De Leon, Nonoy Hulguin, Reymund Lopez , Toto Flores, and Richard Secuelan, while Willy Mahilum, Ronald Fernandez, Melchor Samillano, Hernand Garciniego and Abe Leong for NPBC.
De Leon scored 129 points to lead Sharp, while Fernandez anchored the Stars with 107 pinfalls.
Canvil Knights of Elmer Libo-on settled for second runner-up after absorbing defeat in the hands of NPBC in the semi-final, 337-300.
In the non-rated department, K of C Candles defeated FRM Marketing/Sharp in the battle for the title, 357-328.
Playing for Candles were Lito Masculino, Melot Alimon, and Frantit Miranda while the members of FRM squad were Remo Jareno, Irne Diaz, Toto F. and Boy Wingpo.
Rapha I, piloted by tournament's master bowler Essho Garcia, placed second runner-up.
Davies 2 and Davies I of Edgar Jerez and Romel Jover recorded the team's highest single and triple with 413 and 1,082 pinfalls.
Record holders in the individual contest were Lito Masculino (Candles) in pinning with 96; Nilo Maghari in single and triple with 162 and 410, respectively.
Pin toppling action will again heat the lanes of the New Top's Millennium Plaza when the Sharp Open Trio Bowling Spectacle will unfold on Sept.18.*HLG
