Maroons beat Green Archers
for 2nd straight win in UAAP

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons remained unbeaten after stunning the De La Salle Green Archers, 71-66, in their UAAP 78 Men's Basketball showdown yesterday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

UP is currently at the top of the UAAP 78 standings with a 2-0 record, their best start since 2005. The winner of the FEU-UST game will join them at the top of the standings.

The Maroons averted a late game collapse as La Salle threatened to steal the win by generating an 11-2 blast in the final three minutes of the game.

Jett Manuel spearheaded the Maroons with 14 points while Andres Desiderio added 13.

Prince Rivero scored 15 points for La Salle in a losing effort. The Green Archers fell to 1-1 after the loss.*PNA
