Azkals vow to bounce back
after 1-5 loss to Uzbekistan

MANILA - Azkals yesterday vowed to bounce back in the 2018 World Cup qualifying game after losing Tuesday night to Uzbekistan.

This was how Azkals coach Thomas Dooley assessed the defeat of the Philippine national football team against Uzbekistan at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan Tuesday night.

“We had a bad day, they (Uzbeks) had a good day,” Dooley said.

Tiger Eye takes early lead
in Golden Fuel bowling tilt

Tiger Eye, an all ladies team snubbed 19 other men's squads to grab the lead at the opening round of the 1 st Golden Fuel Mixed Trio Bowling Tournament at the Negros Super Lanes and Entertainment Center of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

The opening day leader, led by Jumilyn De La Cruz, registered a three-game output of 1,015 pinfalls.

Baco City Strikers came in second with 1,009 followed RJ Stars/NPBC with 986.

Maroons beat Green Archers
for 2nd straight win in UAAP

The University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons remained unbeaten after stunning the De La Salle Green Archers, 71-66, in their UAAP 78 Men's Basketball showdown yesterday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

UP is currently at the top of the UAAP 78 standings with a 2-0 record, their best start since 2005. The winner of the FEU-UST game will join them at the top of the standings.

The Maroons averted a late game collapse as La Salle threatened to steal the win by generating an 11-2 blast in the final three minutes of the game.
