The Energy Regulatory Commission held an evidential hearing on the application of Central Negros Electric Cooperative for authority to implement rerouting or relocation of the 69 KV Talisay Feeder, and installation of disconnect switches, with prayer for provisional authority.

Hearing officer, Rhett Roswell Mislang, said yesterday that the Ceneco manifested and affirmed that the project worth P58 million is not only for rerouting and relocation, but the construction of a new 69KV line to augment the reliability of the old existing 69KB Talisay Feeder line.

"We asked them (Ceneco) to submit the documents for us to evaluate and see if there is, indeed, a need to construct a new line," Mislang said.

Ceneco guaranteed the ERC that no power rate increase will be imposed on consumers while implementing the project since the Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable CAPEX is sufficient to finance the project through amortization.

After the approval by the ERC, Ceneco can start and finish the project within six months, Mislang said.

He said Ceneco is also required to submit a Cost-Benefit analysis.*SGG
