I ruined everything

Dear Tita,

I married my husband, Jun, when we were both in our early 20’s. My parents were against my marriage because they still considered me too immature for married life but I was so stubborn and headstrong, that I eloped with Jun so we wouldn’t have to part. My parents had no choice but to accept my decision. The first few months of marriage were very rough as we were always fighting. We are both hard-headed so our fights would end up with my breaking our things. It got so bad that we didn’t have any plates and glasses left as I broke them all in my fits of uncontrollable anger. But deep down inside I really loved Jun very much. He would always ask for my forgiveness and we would be as sweet as ever after our fights.

The worst fight we had was when Jun came home very late and very drunk. I got so angry with him that I threw our lampshade at him hitting him on the head. He got very angry when he saw blood trickling down his head. Suddenly, he punched me in the face knocking me off our bed. I was so shocked that I ran home to my parents. When Jun came to our house, my brother chased him off, warning him not to bother me again. Jun was so disgusted that he left for Cebu and didn’t come back. I started going out with my friends until I met Frank, an appliance salesman. We became very close and one night after a date, we ended up in a motel. The next day, Frank told me that he had a wife and three kids in San Carlos City. How I regretted giving myself to him.

Recently Jun sent word that he wanted to come back to me if I would have him. I found that I really love him and would want to have him back in my life. But I feel guilty about my one night stand with Frank. Should I tell Jun about it? Or should I just keep quiet.

REGRETTING

Dear Regretting,

You were so foolish in playing with fire until you got burned. Now you realize it is Jun you really love after all. He wants to come back into your life and you want him back, but you have a deep dark secret bothering you – your brief affair with Frank. Should you tell Jun?

This is a decision only you can make. If you keep it a secret, you will be haunted by it all your life. Who knows if Frank didn’t brag about your one night stand to other people?

You will always dread that one day Jun would find out from someone about what you had done. On the other hand, if you do tell Jun, he might decide to leave you forever.

Some men cannot accept that their wife had sex with another man. Are you prepared to lose Jun all over again?

You have to weigh things very carefully and consider your options. I hope your dilemma would be a lesson to young wives who go out on dates when they have fights with their husbands.

TITA

New store set to open

Bacolod Venus Enterprises will open today its new store, the Venus Lights and Lamps Co., at Burgos Extension corner 3rd Road in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, a press release from the company said yesterday.

The opening and blessing is scheduled at nine this morning, with Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia cutting the ribbon and Fr. Naring de la Cruz officiating at the rites.

The owners who want to establish the company’s presence in the bustling commercial area at the Burgos-Circumferential Road, completed the construction of the two-storey building, the Venus Center, to house their newest outlet.

It also deals with lighting fixtures and electrical supplies like their main store at Lacson Street since 1976.
