2 killed in bike mishaps

The husband of a journalist and a call center agent were killed in motorcycle-related accidents in Bacolod City Sunday.

Senior Police Officer 1 Joey Mira, traffic investigator, said Dilyno Dulla, 41, of San Dionesio Subdivision, Brgy. Granada, was heading west of North Capitol road when his motorcycle collided with a Kia Sedan that was heading south of Lacson Street at about 2 p.m.

The Kia Sedan was driven by Joseph Brian Naguimbing, 30, also of San Dionesio Subdivision.

He said Dulla fell into the pavement and hit his head.

Dulla’s common-law wife, Teresa Ellera, said he was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital but was later transferred to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Hospital, where he died at about 11 p.m. Sunday.

A trisikad driver, who witnessed the incident, said that both the motorcycle and the car were not speeding, Mira said.

The family of Dulla and Naguimbing are set to meet t at the Traffic Management Unit Office today.

Meanwhile, Fred De Jaresco Garcia, 22, of Villa Felicidad Subdivision in Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, and employed by the Panasiatic Call Center, also died at the Riverside Medical Center after his motorcycle collided with an Isuzu Dimax at about 12:15 a.m. Sunday, traffic investigator Police Officer 2 Daniel Ballesteros, said.

Garcia was heading south of Lacson Street while the Isuzu Dimax driven by Ron Abad Tamayo, 26, of Greensville 3 Subdivision, Bacolod was going the opposite way when the collision occurred, Ballesteros said.

He added that Joan Nuñez Operio, 22, the passenger of Garcia, was also wounded and is now at RMC while Tamayo was also hospitalized after he had an asthma attack.

Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Perma, TMU chief investigator, said that, based on their records, there have been 47 casualties from road accidents in Bacolod since January, and 22 of them are motorcycle-related.*APN
