IN MANAPLA
2 robbers captured

Two robbery-hold-up suspects were captured by the police about an hour after they allegedly tried to rob ambulant vendors in Hacienda Bilbao, Brgy. San Pablo, Manapla, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Police Officer 1 Tony Parcon, Manapla PNP desk officer, yesterday identified the arrested suspects as Napoleon Padernal, alias Indoy, and Rodolfo Salapar, alias Ting, both residents of the barangay.

Parcon said the apprehension yielded a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition and an empty shell, a live bullet of .44 caliber magnum revolver, and a black bonnet.

Police investigations showed that the two arrested suspects and their unidentified companion flagged down a tricycle driven by Cyrill Jardenico with passenger Jinky Carbonella, who were on their way to Brgy. San Pablo proper to deliver bread and cookies. Parcon said the suspects fired a warning shot after their would-be victims ignored them. The victims later reported the incident to the Manapla police station.

Follow-up operations by the Manapla police led to the arrest of Padernal and Salapar who were subjected yesterday to paraffin tests at the police Crime Laboratory in Bacolod City.*GPB
