Feedback on ‘Frustrated’

This column received feedback from Father Sean Coyle on the letter of “Frustrated” about her problems with her husband. Fr. Coyle said he is inviting this couple and their neighbors to their next worldwide encounter on March 8-10, that is often held at the Maryshore Retreat House in Talisay City. Fr. Coyle also says to this couple:

It's not a retreat, or a marriage clinic, nor group sensitivity. It's a unique approach aimed at revitalizing Christian Marriage.

This is a time for you and your spouse to be alone together. To rediscover each other and together focus on your relationship for an entire weekend. Every marriage deserves that kind of attention.

Couples should have been married in Church. If one or both are Catholics that means in a Catholic church.

There is no group work on the Weekend. There is more information on ourwebsite. The Weekend isn't for couples with major problems such as infidelity but is intended especially for those whose marriages are basically soundpero OK lang. Many couples who had lost the 'spark' have re-discovered it on a Weekend.

To Tita, he says:

You may give my email address to 'Frustrated' or even publish it.

God bless you for your good work

FATHER SEAN COYLE

***

Dear Father Coyle,

Thank you very much for your advice to my letter-sender “Frustrated”. I hope she will take your message to heart. I’m almost sure the WWME would be of great help in trying to find a solution to their marital problems. As a media person, I have always believed that open channels of communication are vital to any marriage. It can clear the air for better understanding and give a better grasp of the issues involved.

Discussing things verbally and rationally is important before hidden resentments fester and explode into a word war. I hope other couples with similar problems would seek help through the WWME before things get out of hand and separation would seem to be the only alternative.

Once again, thank you Father Coyle. I hope we could meet each other personally one day. In the meantime, good luck to you and God bless.

TITA
