Aussie, Bacoleña wed

Australian Peter John Band and Harriet Cajipo of Bacolod exchanged married vows Jan. 8 at the Sacred Heart Seminary Chapel in Bacolod City , with Rev. Fr. Rayman Asoy officiating.

Harriet is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hernani Cajipo, while Peter John is the son of Eva Marie Band.

Principal sponsors were Martin Castro, Julius Ceasar Areopagita, Rabanes Pundato, Austiano Alvarez, Pedro Abkilan, Cirilo Arroz, Bevan Gibson, Armando Jocson, Romeo Mocera and Thomas Michael O’Brien;

Councilor Marie June Castro, Celia Matea Flor, Dr. Luz Felisa Pundato, Anabelle Corral-Respal,Aniceta Diamante, Mary Ann Dino, Delia Locsin, Adriana Toding, Debbie Sharrat and Andrea Si.

Buñao acting UNO-R head

Fr. Emeterio Buñao, is the acting preesident of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos, in Bacolod City until February 26, while UNO-R president, Fr. Dionisio Cachero, is attending the OAR Renewal Course in Brazil, a press release from UNO-R said.

Buñao is the House Prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod Convent and president of the Recoletos Social Outreach Center in Brgy. Handumanan. He is a member of the Provincial Council of the OAR Province of St. Ezekiel Moreno. At UNO-R, he is the vice president for Administration and the director of Scholarships, the press release said.

Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem, is UNO-R acting vice president for Finance. He assumed the post of Fr. Eduardo Celiz, who is in a Renewal Course in Spain, the press release added.*

SJA set to celebrate
academy day

The St. Joseph Academy of Saravia Inc. in EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, will mark its 48th Academy Day Celebration, with a week-long series of activities, Jan. 24 to 29.

These will include a mass, grand parade, band exhibition and field demonstration on Jan. 24, to be followed the next day by invitational games, basketball in elementary and high school, and volleyball girls.

There will be a recognition of parents and presentation of sponsors, coronation night of Mr. and Ms. Elementary 2012 and CAT Night on Jan. 26., followed by the First Communion rites, fun games and coronation of Mr. and Ms. SJA High School 2012 on Jan. 27. Alumni Day is scheduled Jan. 29.

The activities will be capped by a Family Day and Battle of the Bands on Jan. 29.*GPB
