Construction worker hunted
for stabbing colleague dead

Station 7 policemen have launched a manhunt operation against a construction worker tagged in the fatal stabbing of his colleague at Guadalupe Subdivision in Brgy. Alijis, Bacolod City, Thursday, Chief Insp. Levy Pangue, said yesterday.

Pangue said Ruel Sarillo of Brgy. Sincatuna in Isabela town fled after stabbing Jonny Villa, 24, of Brgy. Mambagaton in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Sarillo sustained five stab wounds, one of them in his chest, and was declared dead on arrival at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Pangue said misunderstanding is being eyed as the motive for the stabbing.

Noel Yap, 19, of Purok Kawayanan in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod was also rushed to the CLMMRH after he was stabbed at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Araneta highway in front of the BF Goodrich building, Bacolod.

Through a follow-up investigation yesterday, the suspect was identified by Yap’s friend, Romando Omarremendria, 19, as Nikki James Riofrer, 21, of Brgy. Tabao, Valladolid and an employee of a hardware store in Brgy. Tangub, case investigator, Police Officer 2 Roberto Gaurana said.

Gaurana said Riofrer and Yap both came from a bar when they argued and this eventually led to the stabbing. He said Riofrer has not reported for work since the stabbing happened.

Martilano Apolinario, 46, of Purok Sampaguita 3 in Brgy. Singcang Airport, Bacolod was also stabbed allegedly by his drinking buddy, identified as Ike Diamante in Purok Dasuk Brgy. Singcang-Airport, at about 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

Diamante is now in police custody while the bladed weapon he allegedly used in stabbing Apolinario was recovered. Apolinario was rushed to the CLMMRH, where he is confined.*APN
