City mayors including Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia gathered in Puerta Prinsesa City last weekend to attend the 49th National Executive Board Meeting-Expanded of the League of Cities of the Philippines, a press release from City Hall said.
The city mayors discussed a range of issues including revenue-generating measures for cities and looked into the best-practice sanitary landfill and Kilos Agad Action Center Emergency Call Assistance 117 programs of Puerto Prinsesa, it said.
During its meeting led by national president Oscar Rodriguez of San Fernando City, the city mayors present decided to hold their next 50th NEB-Expanded in Bacolod City during the peak days of the MassKara Festival on October 19-21, 2012.
Leonardia, who is the LCP National Executive Vice President, is quite elated by the mayor’s decision, the release said.
“The visit of the city mayors to Bacolod City in October 2012 will boost the stock of the primary festival of our beloved city, our world-renowned MassKara Festival,” Leonardia said.
Likewise, Leonardia is calling upon all Bacoleños to close ranks for the best MassKara festivities this year, the release added.*
