Calungsod mass can
be seen online

Millions of Filipinos around the world will be able to join the National Thanksgiving Mass for the canonization of San Pedro Calungsod today in Cebu City, in real time, through the online streaming of Smart Communications Inc., a press release from the company said.

The company partnered with the Archdiocese of Cebu, the organizer of the thanksgiving celebration, and mobilized network personnel to provide Internet connectivity at the media center of the event and to Radio TV Malacañang.

Maria Jane Paredes, head of Smart Public Affairs for VisMin, said the company boosted the coverage in the area by setting up two mobile cell sites at the mass venue and by deploying more e-load sellers for devotees who would need airtime, the press release said.

It also set up tents, and distributed 50,000 pieces of hard paper to pilgrims from the Archdiocese's 149 parishes. The fan design contains a guide map of the venue with legends that will help devotees and participants from all parishes locate the medical, security and media centers, the press release added.*
