Diocese of Bacolod joins
Year of Faith procession

The Diocese of Bacolod joins the celebration of the Year of Faith with a procession at 8:30 a.m. today and a concelebrated mass, led by Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra at the San Sebastian Cathedral, Msgr. Felix Pasquin said yesterday.

Pasquin, rector of San Sebastian Cathedral, said today is the start of the Year of Faith as declared by Pope Benedict XVI last year.

He said the celebration coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council, and the 20th anniversary of Catechism of the Catholic Church.

The Year of Faith is an opportunity for all to understand more profoundly that the basis of Christian faith is in the person of Jesus Christ, Pasquin also said.

He said the celebration will end on Nov. 23, 2013, the Feast of Christ, the King. The diocese also conducted weekly lectures on the 12 articles of faith at the start of its 100th day countdown since July 3, he added.

Pasquin also said that other parishes of the diocese held prayers everyday to the Holy Spirit in preparation for the Year of Faith, adding that regular weekly prayers will take place in all parishes for the fruitfulness of the celebration.*LTG
