The United Opposition yesterday announced its full 12-man senatorial line up, while the administration's Team Unity as of press time had 11-slots filled up with the last day for filing of certificates of candidacy for senatorial bets set today.

The administration ticket did not include any movie stars.

Former Senator John Osmeņa, who is running under the United Opposition ticket, said their list of candidates was completed yesterday and among his running mates are former senators Loren Legarda and Anna Dominique "Nikki" Coseteng, and reelectionist senators Manuel Villar, Panfilo "Ping" Lacson and Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan. moremoremore

Defensor: Country
needs stability

DON SALVADOR BENEDICTO - Presidential Chief of Staff Michael "Mike" Defensor stressed the need for stability and peace among the people and their leaders so the country will have continued growth.

"I think the first thing we have to do and the first act I will have to take is to help in the unity effort," Defensor said Saturday during his visit to Don Salvador Benedicto as guest speaker during the Kali Kalihan Harvest Festival and 24th founding anniversary of the municipality.

He said that in the past six years there had been discord among the country's political leaders and he hopes to see stability and peace in the remaining three years of the President. moremoremore

File case against AFP members if
they're campaigning -- Ibrado

"File charges against any member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines who are campaigning against anybody or any political group in the May 14 elections."

The statement came from Maj. Gen.Victor Ibrado, commanding general of the 3rd Infantry Division, who was reacting to accusations of militant groups that Army personnel and members of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade are campaigning against party-list groups such as Bayan Muna, Gabriela and Anak Pawis, among others.

"We have no instructions to campaign against anybody or any particular group," Ibrado stressed.
