Week opens

The Mass Communication Department of the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos opens today its Mass Communication Week 2007 on the theme, "Reinventing Mass Comm to a New Dimension," a UNO-R press release said.

The opening ceremony at 8 a.m. will be held at the UNO-R Main Lobby. A Mass will be at 4:30 p.m. at the Oratory.

The Red Affair and Radio Booths of the Mass Comm Freshmen and Senior students will also officially open.

The Red Affair "Say it With Flowers and Chocolates" booth celebrates Valentine's Day with its love notes, scented flowers, chocolate coated hearts and roses. An exhibit entitled "Reporting the Affairs of the Public" will showcase the opinion articles of students from Opinion and Feature Writing Class, the press release said.

Other activities are the soft launching today of the Solid Waste Management Program of UNO-R; Movie Parade; and a free viewing of the documentary "Stay Alive: Safety for Journalists" Friday, 10 a.m. at the Little Theater. Passage

The variety show "WWW.LOVE/YAHAHA.MASS.COM" will showcase the talents in song and dance numbers and situational comedy of the Sophomores slated on Friday, the UNO-R auditorium. The weeklong celebration will be capped with Mass Comm Night on Feb. 17 at the Taberna of the Casino Filipino Hotel, with the Dust 22 band, the press release added.*
