The Provincial Development Council has approved the request for
additional budget to install more Barangay Agricultural Development
Centers in Oriental Negros.
The P500,000 allocation will be divided for 18 BADC's to different
agricultural sites, being maintained by farmer cooperatives which
has reached a total of 88 since 1998.
Gov. George Arnaiz said he wanted to expand the project as
it has been proven effective in reaching out to farmers in the hinterland
villages. The province earned the Galing Pook Award because of the
program.
The Provincial Agriculture Office will hold farmer field schools
in BADC sites and orient participants on the advanced ways of farming.*MA
