Teener apprehended
for townhouse heist
A teenager was arrested, while his three companions
escaped when they broke into a townhouse at 13th-Lacson streets,
Bacolod City at about 3:15 a.m. Saturday.
Caretaker Pablo Floranda Aninipot, 51, arrested
Jennie Torrecareon Pehilan, 18, in the act of stealing an attaché
case that was placed in the car of townhouse tenant Ric Lobaton,
police reports said.
Aninipot told the police he saw Pehilan and his
three companions break into Lobaton's Honda Civic with Plate Number
WFA 121 parked in the townhouse compound. When he called the attention
of the suspects, they immediately ran out of the area.
He said he intercepted Pehilan, but his companions
managed to escape. He said the suspects accidentally spilled the
contents of the attaché while escaping. Pehilan identified his companions
as Rey June Amar, 18, alias "Laloy; Bernabe Panao, 19 and April
Ungada, 18, of Purok Ylac, Brgy. Villamonte, police reports also
said.
Meanwhile, Aileen Quirao Marquin, 28, whose
house is adjacent to the townhouse, told the police that three unidentified
persons entered her house and stole three stainless steel steamers,
police reports said.
Fortunately, Marquin said, she was able to recover
the stolen items, which were left by the suspects beside the street.
Meanwhile, Mary Grace Neniel Jemino, 28, single,
of Purok Lison, Sto. Niño, Brgy. 1, Bacolod City reported to Police
Station 1 that her cellphone was snatched by an unidentified person
while she was on a passenger jeepney at Araneta-Gonzaga streets
at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, police reports said.
In another report, a 25-year-old man accused of
holding up a Bacolod resident, was brought to Police Station 4 for
investigation yesterday.
Complainant Glenn More Pun-an endorsed Luis Sibomet
Topinit, 25, single, of Purok Bagong Hilway, Brgy. 22, Bacolod City
after identifying him as the one who held him up in Brgy. Villamonte
on March 2.
Pun-an told the police he sought help from
his relative when he spotted Topinit riding on his tricycle at Burgos
Street at about 2 a.m. yesterday. Pun-an then brought the suspect
to Police Station 4 for investigation.
Topinit denied allegations and told the police
that he and Pun-an had "sexual transactions" and the latter did
not pay him, so he took Pun-an's cellphone.
Recovered from the suspect were Pun-an's cellphone

Minor nabbed for
marijuana possession
A teenager and two others were arrested for alleged
possession of suspected dried marijuana leaves and bladed weapons,
respectively, in an Oplan-Bakal operation conducted by Police Station
4 at Bacolod beer houses over the weekend.
Insp. Luisito Acebuche, Police Station 4 commander,
said they arrested the 17-year-old in the act of throwing a cigaret
pack that contained an undetermined amount of suspected marijuana
at a videoke bar along B.S. Aquino Drive, Brgy. Villamonte at about
12:17 a.m. yesterday.
Acebuche said they brought the minor to the
police station for further investigation, but he managed to escape
but he was re-arrested later at his residence in Brgy. Alijis, Acebuche
added.
He said they will file charges for violation
of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002 against the minor who was turned over to the Department of
Social Services and Development.
Meanwhile, Juben Cajucson Tahan, 37, of Purok
Bulak, Brgy. Mandalagan was apprehended for alleged possession of
a bladed weapon at a beerhouse at Narra-C.L. Montelibano streets
in Brgy. Villamonte at about 11:50 p.m. Saturday, Acebuche said.
Two hours later, the police also arrested Eduardo
Hastellana Eramis, 47, of Villa Angela, Brgy. Vista Alegre for alleged
possession of a cane cutter at Modern Lights bar at Narra Avenue,
Capitol Shopping Center.
Tahan and Eramis are now detained in the lock-up
cell of Police Station 4 for illegal possession of deadly weapon,

on rugby collared
Eight persons, three of them minors, were arrested
in the act of sniffing volatile substance, or "rugby" and engaging
in illegal gambling in Bacolod City over the weekend.
SPO1 Herson Villanueva, of Police Station 1,
apprehended the three minors, aged 15 to 16, at the Bacolod plaza
at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police reports said.
Villanueva recovered two plastic bottles containing
"rugby" from the minors, who were later endorsed to the Social Development
Center at the Bacolod City police office, reports said.
Brgy. 35 Kagawad Wenceslao Billones also endorsed
to Police Station 1 Richard Reuela Villarosa, 19, single, of Purok
Malipayon, Brgy. 35 who was caught in the act of sniffing rugby
in the barangay at about 11:30 p.m. Friday, police reports said.
PO2 Gilbert Pineda and PO2 Gabihan, of the Bacolod
City Mobile Group also arrested Mark Camingan Alojamiento, 18, in
the act of inhaling "rugby" at San Sebastian-Locsin streets, Bacolod
City at about 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
Recovered from Alojamiento, single, of Brgy.
Carolina, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental were a plastic with
"rugby" and a 10-inch bladed weapon, police reports said.
Meanwhile, PO2 Dave Dollosa, of Police Station
1 arrested Jessie Panangganan Mayagua, 25, of Purok Boulevard, Brgy.
16; Antonio Simplicia Bulido, 33, and Sunny Bituon Andacahan, both
of Rodriguez-Baybay, Brgy. 34, Bacolod City, for violation of Presidential
Decree 1602, or illegal gambling, police reports said.
Dollosa arrested the three in the act of playing
Cara y Cruz, or tumbo in the barangay at about 11 p.m. Saturday.
Recovered from them were P85 in bet money and three P1 used as cue
coins, police reports also said.*DMG
