Thirty participants from the Central Negros Council for Coastal Resource Development fishing community recently attended a two-day hands-on training on Fishery Product Development, Marketing, and Promotion in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

The participants came Bago City and Pulupandan, Pontevedra, Hinigaran, and Binalbagan towns.

Using lampirong or Capiz shells as main product, they learned how to make lampirong burger, lampirong chips, lampirong noodles, lampirong pizza and lampirong sardines in veggie.

DTI warns public vs.
contractors without license

The Department of Trade and Industry has warned the public to avoid dealing with unlicensed contractors in anticipation of construction activity peaking this summer.

Trade Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya said in an advisory that a contractor needs a license to ensure that it has adequate technical and financial capability to engage in the construction business.

A license also guarantees that construction projects follow building safety standards, it added.
