Thirty participants from the Central Negros Council for Coastal
Resource Development fishing community recently attended a two-day
hands-on training on Fishery Product Development, Marketing, and
Promotion in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
The participants came Bago City and Pulupandan, Pontevedra,
Hinigaran, and Binalbagan towns.
Using lampirong or Capiz shells as main product, they learned
how to make lampirong burger, lampirong chips, lampirong noodles,
lampirong pizza and lampirong sardines in veggie.
The training sought to improve local fishery product utilization
with emphasis on lampirong and other shellfish commodities, impart
modern product packaging skills, marketing strategies and product
promotions. It was conducted in cooperation with Agricultural Training
Center - Regional Training Center 6, Technology and Livelihood Development
Center, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade
and Industry, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and CENECCORD.*NLG
