Celebration in Cebu

A three-day celebration was held recently to mark the 50 th anniversary of Atlas Fertilizer Corporation in Cebu where participants were booked at Marriot and Waterfront hotels.

The first day featured a tour of the City of Cebu , lunch and dinner were tendered at a prestigious resto. The next day, the delegates went off to Toledo where the company plant is located.

Thanks to Mayor Tommy Osmeña, the South Reclamation Project coastal road from Cuenco Street up to the boundary of Toledo, reduced our trip to just one hour instead of three.

At the plant we were shown the facilities, the staff house, recreation center, swimming pool and many more. Lunch followed at the Cebeco–Cebu Electrical Cooperative Hall, then back for the 50 th anniversary dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Waterfront that accommodated thousands of attendees.

At the program the opening remarks was given by president/COO Raymund Ilustre, and the keynote address by Labor Undersecretary Jesus Emmanuel Paras.

Chairman Delfin Lazaro welcomed participants who were then entertained by Robert Senga and the Ang Fourgettables.

Also present from the company were officials Raymund Ilustre, Delfin Lazaro, Hiroo Takemoto, Jesus Sy, Yasuyuki Ogawa, Jose Miguel Abad, Lewis Aligaen, Rolando Basco Jr., Maria Concepcion and Oscar Reyes.
