IN DUMAGUETE
DOTC orders survey of port

BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

The Department of Transportation and Communications has ordered an immediate survey of the under deck of the Port of Dumaguete to determine its worthiness after it was battered by surging seawaters and waves brought by super typhoon “Pablo” early this month.

Port manager Annie Lee Manese said her office will submit to general manager Juan Sta. Ana, and DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya the program of work and the detailed engineering plan of the underdeck for funding this week.

The survey will ensure that the Roll-On, Roll Off ports are still in good condition, she added.

Victims Cerela Flores, 29, manager of Mang Inasal, and Marlon Cancio, 27, told the police a man entered the store and asked for its telephone number.

A few minutes later, Flores received a telephone call from a certain “Dra. Degamo” of the Holy Child Hospital, who ordered the delivery of four cans of soft drinks and 10 pieces of chicken cue, all worth P1,140, the police said.
