Silay SPED students
shine in Paralympiada

Students from Special Education of Silay City ruled four events in the 10th Paralympiada 2012 held at the Gustilo Memorial National High School in Cadiz City.

Ailyn Pacino topped the 50-meter sprint Category A, while her teammate Connie Mohana reigned in 50-meter Category B, Ma. Elena Serion finished first in 200-meter run Category B, and Andrelou Alarcon won the pig hunting event.

The Silay SPED volleyball team also won the championship against their contenders from Bacolod, Escalante, Sagay, La Carlota, and Cadiz schools.

Coached by Fidello Selendron and Carla Barzo, the Silay SPED students showed their skills against their counterparts from other schools.

During a courtesy call at Silay City Hall, Selendron thanked the Silay City local government headed by Mayor Jose Montelibano for supporting the development of their SPED students.

He said they will give their best in next year’s competition to win the overall championship.*
